3D Scan & Reverse Engineering

Overview

Have a physical object but no digital model? Scanning captures its real-world shape as accurate 3D geometry. From there you can stop at a clean scan mesh, or go further and have it rebuilt into a precise, fully editable CAD model — ideal for re-manufacturing a discontinued part or modifying an existing one.

3D Scanning

$50 base — produces a cleaned, watertight mesh of the object, ready to 3D print, archive, or hand off for further work.

Best for organic shapes, sculptures, and parts where you need the form itself. Very large, highly reflective, or transparent objects may need extra prep — mentioned in the quote.

Reverse Engineering

$75 and up — the raw scan is rebuilt into a clean, parametric CAD model with true edges, flat faces, and exact dimensions. The result is a precise solid you can edit, fit to other parts, or send to manufacturing.

$75 covers a simple object. Complex geometry, fine features, or tight tolerances are quoted after a look at the part.

Process

1. Drop off or ship the object (or bring it by the studio).
2. Scan capture and mesh cleanup.
3. Optional: rebuild into an editable CAD model.
4. Delivery of the files — and a print, if you want one.
